การร่วงลงของหุ้นกลุ่มพลังงานได้ฉุดหุ้นกลุ่มเหมืองแร่อ่อนแรงลงด้วย โดยหุ้นฟรีพอร์ท-แมคมอแรน ร่วงลง 9.5% ขณะที่หุ้นโมซาอิค และหุ้นนิวมอนท์ ไมนิ่ง ต่างก็ร่วงลงไปกว่า 2.5%, หุ้นกลุ่มการเงินร่วงลงติดต่อกัน 2 วันทำการ โดยหุ้นแบงก์ ออฟ อเมริกา และหุ้นซิตี้กรุ๊ป อิงค์ ต่างก็ปรับตัวลงอย่างน้อย 0.6% ส่วนหุ้นแอปเปิล ร่วงลง 1.2% เนื่องจากความวิตกกังวลที่ว่า ยอดขายไอโฟนอาจจะปรับตัวลงในปีหน้า
