อย่างไรก็ตาม ปัจจุบันปตท.มีคลัง LNG แห่งที่ 1 ที่รองรับการนำเข้า LNG จำนวน 10 ล้านตัน/ปี และอยู่ระหว่างรอการพิจารณาจากรัฐบาลว่าจะให้ขยายคลังแห่งที่ 1 เพิ่มเป็น 11.5 ล้านตัน/ปี หรือ 15 ล้านตัน/ปี ซึ่งจะมีการนำเข้าหารือในที่ประชุมคณะกรรมการนโยบายพลังงานแห่งชาติ (กพช.) ในเดือนก.ค. หรือส.ค.นี้ เนื่องจากรัฐบาลต้องการรอดูความชัดเจนของความต้องการใช้และปริมาณก๊าซฯที่จะเป็นเชื้อเพลิงการผลิตไฟฟ้าให้มีความชัดเจนก่อน

พร้อมกันนี้ยังเดินหน้าในการก่อสร้างโครงการ โดยโครงการโรงไฟฟ้าพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์ Ray Power ในประเทศกัมพูชา ขนาดกำลังการผลิตติดตั้ง 39 เมกะวัตต์ และโครงการโรงไฟฟาพลังงานลมบ่อทอง วินฟาร์ม 1 2 ขนาดกำลังการผลิตติดตั้ง 16 เมกะวัตต์ มีกำหนดการ COD ในช่วงไตรมาส 4/2563 ถึงไตรมาส 1/2564 มั่นใจเติบโตอย่างมั่นคงและยั่งยืนตามคำมั่นสัญญาที่ให้ไว้ที่จะมีกำลังการผลิตไฟฟ้าตามสัญญาการซื้อไฟฟ้าที่ 5 พันเมกะวัตต์ ภายในปี 2565
