โดยประเด็นดังกล่าวเป็นข่าวลบกับ STPI ซึ่งค่าปรับที่ต้องจ่ายออกไป 296.10 ล้านบาท คิดเป็น 0.73 บาท/หุ้น แต่จะกระทบงบกำไรขาดทุนทางบัญชีเฉพาะส่วนที่ยังไม่ตั้งสำรองฯ คือ เท่ากับ 113 ล้านบาท หรือคิดเป็น 0.28 บาท/หุ้น ขณะที่ผลประกอบการบริษัทก็อยู่ในช่วงที่ไม่ดีนัก เพราะยังไม่ได้รับงานใหม่ขนาดใหญ่เข้ามา โดยใน 1Q60 บริษัทมีรายได้รวมเพียง 472 ล้านบาท และมีขาดทุนสุทธิ 231 ล้านบาท ส่วน 2Q60F ก็อาจจะยังมีผลประกอบการที่ไม่ดีนัก ผนวกกับต้องตั้งสำรองฯเพิ่มอีก 113 ล้านบาทจากกรณีดังกล่าวข้างต้น ทำให้บรรทัดสุดท้ายอาจจะขาดทุนสุทธิต่ออีก
ทั้งนี้ นอกจากจะมีส่วนช่วยยกระดับให้ชุมชนได้เป็นผู้ผลิต ผู้ใช้ และผู้จำหน่ายไฟได้เองแล้ว ยังช่วยแก้ปัญหาปากท้อง สร้างอาชีพ สร้างรายได้ ลดการย้ายถิ่นฐาน สามารถเพิ่มการลงทุนในพื้นที่ได้อีก เช่น การปลูกพืชพลังงานเพื่อใช้เป็นเชื้อเพลิง ซึ่งเชื่อว่าพืชพลังงานที่จะทำมาใช้ในโรงไฟฟ้าจะต้องสร้างรายได้ต่อไร่ต่อปีที่มากกว่าเดิม เพราะเป็นเกษตรพันธสัญญากับโรงไฟฟ้า ปลูกแล้วรับซื้อกันไปถึง 20 ปีเป็นอย่างน้อย ซึ่งจะทำให้ประชาชนสามารถมีรายได้ที่ดีอย่างยั่งยืนยาวนาน ทั้งนี้ จะมีการตั้งคณะกรรมการเพื่อพิจารณาดำเนินงานร่วมกันกับชุนชนต่อไป
