นายเจน นำชัยศิริ ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) เปิดเผยถึงสถิติการขยายตัวของความต้องการปูนซิเมนต์ทั่วประเทศ ในเดือน ต.ค.59 อยู่ที่ -1.8% เทียบกับ ต.ค.58 แต่ดีกว่าก.ย.59 ที่ -3.4% ที่น่าสังเกตคือตั้งแต่เดือน พ.ค.59 เป็นต้นมาดัชนีนี้จะอยู่ในแดนลบมาตลอด ซึ่งในที่สุดผลรวมทั้งปีตั้งแต่เดือน ม.ค.59 เป็นต้นมายอดเริ่มติดลบจากก่อนหน้านี้ยอดสะสมยังเป็นบวกอยู่ โดย -0.1% มาที่ 28.90 ล้านตัน จาก 28.95 ล้านตันในช่วงเดียวกันของปี 58
